KINETIC CREATORS MENTORS
Our mentors are the life force of Kinetic Creators. They are experienced entrepreneurs, educators and professionals who have mastered the art of problem solving and are comfortable supporting the Creators as they navigate uncertainty. Mentors meet with assigned teams of Creators on a weekly basis to facilitate productive discussions and brainstorming sessions. If you are motivated to give back to the next generation of entrepreneurs, volunteer to be a mentor for Kinetic Creators.
What is the role of a kinetic creators mentor?
We have two tracks in the program to support ventures at different stages.
TEST TRACK: If you are a Test Track mentor, you will support the Creators as they develop an entrepreneurial mindset and a basic startup skillset. You will work with a small group of Creators who are in the early stages of forming their idea, so much of your meetings will be spent discussing the Design Thinking process, including brainstorming, research, prototyping, and user testing.
FAST TRACK: If you are a Fast Track mentor, you will be paired with a team of Creators that is ready to acquire customers, test a high-fidelity prototype or seek funding. We will pair you based on your area of expertise so that you have the ability to speak knowledgeably about their market and can offer valuable connections to contacts in your network.
what is the time commitment?
The program runs from June 1 - August 14, 2020.
Test Track mentors commit to 60-minutes per week to meet with their pod of Creators, while Fast Track mentors commit to 30-minutes per week to meet with their team. You will determine this meeting day and time.
We expect that you can join us for our Creator Celebration on Friday, August 14th, and welcome you at any of our other sessions (see below):
Test Track Schedule
Creator Seminars - Mondays @ 12 PM (Eastern)
Pod Mentor Meetings - Weekly, scheduled by mentor
Fast Track Schedule
Creator Huddles - Weekly, scheduled by Creator Captain
Mentor Meetings - Weekly, scheduled by mentor
C-Suite Roundtables - Thursdays @ 12 PM (Eastern)
are resources and training provided?
We are willing to provide as much or little support as you like. We do have general themes each week and will provide recommended topics of conversation, but you are welcome to use the meetings however you like. The mentoring meetings are an opportunity for the Creators to share challenges, successes and ideas with the guidance of an experienced adult.
Is mentoring experience necessary?
No formal previous mentoring experience is required. Kinetic Creators is a space for both students and professionals to take advantage of opportunities to try new things. If you are interested in joining us, we encourage you to apply.
